Second Train the Trainers Workshop
BUN-CA and the Costa Rican Technological Institute (ITCR), within the framework of their signed Cooperation Agreement, developed the Second Regional Workshop “Train the Trainers in Energy Efficiency”, which was jointly implemented with Central American university engineering schools, on December 03-07 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
This Regional Workshop was aimed at establishing a college training platform on the efficient use of electricity in the region. The main topic, “Electric Energy Savings in Lighting Systems”, was covered through lectures delivered by the international expert Alex Ramírez, an engineer with a vast experience in the area of energy diagnoses and efficient lighting systems.Additionally, Dr.Humberto Rodríguez, an international expert with a long track-record in the Latin American academic sector, was also involved.

Institutional Cooperation Agreements Signed (PEER)
Cooperation Agreement with the Costa Rican Technological Institute
Last December 03, 2007, BUN-CA and the Costa Rican Technological Institute (ITCR) signed an Institutional Cooperation Agreement designed to foster cooperation in academic and scientific-technical areas through an exchange of experiences, documents, and information concerning findings from research carried out by each institution.
Cooperation Agreement with the Costa Rican Technical Standards Institute
Last December 03, 2007, BUN-CA and the Costa Rican Technical Standards Institute (INTECO) signed an Institutional Cooperation Agreement to identify opportunities and share information, develop specific initiatives, programs, and projects implemented by both institutions in the field of efficient equipment standardization, particularly on electricity end-uses in industrial and commercial sectors.
