Technical visit to ANCE, Mexico, September 2006

Standards for Efficient Equipment:

With the financing of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), and the technical and financial support of the Regional Energy Efficiency Program (REEP), training in standards for efficient electrical equipment has continued within the framework of the Regional Standards and Labeling Project in Central America, in which the U.S.-based organization, Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standard Program (CLASP) is an active participant.

Thus, a second visit to Mexico was made September 26-30, 2006, under the name “Second Technical Exchange on Standards in Central America and Mexico.”  With this technical exchange, 16 authorities and officials from 6 Central American countries were able to strengthen their knowledge of standards as a way of developing the energy efficiency market in the future.

Visits were made during this second exchange to the MABE Technology and Project Center, the laboratories of the National Certification Association (Asociación Nacional de Certificación, or ANCE), the Energy Savings Trust (Fideicomiso para el Ahorro de Energía, or FIDE), and the National Commission for Energy Savings (Comisión Nacional para el Ahorro de Energía, or CONAE).
