The Regional Director, Jose Maria Blanco, will be participating in the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Council for Harmonization of Electrotechnical Standards of the Americas (CANENA) to be held in San Antonio, Texas, USA, in March 2011.
The workshop main topic of this year is “Focus on the Future”, presenting experiences that will enrich the participation of the audience, following up the dialogue begun at the meeting last March held in San José, Costa Rica.

In the final stages of this initiative, BUN-CA in conjunction with the Association AGAPE of El Salvador and the Association of Small Hotels of El Salvador, is carrying out two technical workshops on Efficient Electrical Equipment and Best Practices in the efficient use of electricity.
These workshops are designed to train staff of the hotels in the optimal use of electrical equipment and implementation of best practices to strengthen their knowledge to the savings in electricity consumption as well as to put in place an appropriate maintenance plan
The workshops will be taking place on 16 and 17 February, in the Novo Apar-Hotel and the facilities of AGAPE in Sonsonate.
Sofía Blanco, on behalf of BUN-CA, participated in the Strategic Planning Workshop on Information Technologies and Communication (ITC) which was organized by the Program Red-Des. The main objective was to contribute to the strategic use of ITCs in order to strengthen the competitiveness of NGOs and social enterprises in Central America. This workshop was conducted from 24 to 28 January 2011, in San Salvador, El Salvador.
During February, BUN-CA continues to conduct monitoring visits to the hotels in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador, with the aim of sharing with managers and maintenance supervisors, registration of monthly electricity consumption and the accounts of savings achieved by investments in energy efficiency.
